ABSTRACT

Bibliographic Review: Critical Care during Postoperative Period of Cardiac Surgery.

The growth of cardiac surgery has led to the parallel development of postoperative intensive care units, whose primary purpose is to solve immediate complications responsible of early perioperative mortality. The complex interaction between physiological changes secondary to the use of extracorporeal circulation and myocardial dysfunction play an important role in tissue hypoperfusion during early postoperative period. Monitoring of hemodynamic variables and indicators of tissue perfusion allow timely detection and correction of specific disorders to optimize the supply and consumption of oxygen which are the goals of functional hemodynamic monitoring.
ER -
